Research interests

Climate change in the polar regions:

1.Long/short term Southern Ocean climate variability and their connection to Northern Hemisphere and low latitude climate system.

2.Sea surface conditions (SST, sea ice, productivity etc.) changes and related atmospheric circulation, CO2 changes;

3.Antarctic glaciation/deglaciation history and meltwater discharge history, and the impact of ocean circulation and nutrient (e.g., Si) leakage to low latitude oceans.

4.Climate changes in the (sub)Arctic, palaeoceanography of the Arctic Ocean, Arctic glaciations history.

5.Subarctic North Pacific climate variability and its interaction with low latitude climate system.
